At Vienna’s Ottakringer brewery, an English- or German-speaking guide takes you from the brewhouse through production and bottling, explaining the brewery’s past and beer range. The 1.5-hour visit ends with freshly tapped samples. Bring closed-toe shoes and expect plenty of standing.

Visit Ottakringer Brewery in Vienna for a 90-minute guided tour covering brewery history, brewing methods, beer varieties, and a final tasting. English tours run only Thursday and Saturday at 4pm. Guides may include Maia, with brewer Mario sometimes joining the tasting.
“We loved the red bier (which is widely available) so made the pilgrimage to the brewery on the outskirts of town. Didn't bother with the tour and found the visitor centre disappointing and little more than a brewery shop. Not worth the effort of getting there. The photo makes it look better than it is. Disappointing.”
